Made from 100% natural panama straw, it will effectively protect you from the sun's rays, while providing your head with maximum freshness. Each piece made by the Italian company Borsalino is unique, and the Prestige hat is a panama made from the finest hand-woven straw. Borsalino uses only the finest materials, hare's hair for its felts and Montecristi straw (Ecuador) for its panama hats. This one, in bleached straw, is absolutely light. Its shape is reminiscent of the finest Borsalino. Toquilla palm contains a certain degree of moisture, the thickness of which givesit its flexibility. When the hat is exposed to an atmosphere saturated with humidity (e.g. sunless beaches), the palm absorbs the excess moisture and expels it when the atmosphere is drier. This process weakens its structure over time , which is whythe first models with a wider fin can't withstand major climatic changes for more than two years. Extra-fine cuencas and Montécristis don't have this problem, as they use a finer toquila palm and a denser weave!

Our tips for a hat that lasts longer!
- With this type of hat, it's important to avoid contact with the rain. Straw is highly absorbent and, once dry, can leavestains and weaken the hat.
- Don' t leave your hat in a closed area in direct sunlight (such as the rear window of a car). The fiber dries too quickly and the hat may break over time.
- Avoid keeping the hat too long in a hot, dry, unventilated place, as a straw hat needs a little moisture to stay in good condition, otherwise the straw can become brittle.
- You can easily steam-iron your hat like a shirt, always protecting it with a dry cloth. It's good exercise and maintains its original shape over time.
- Avoid PINCHING the top of the hat at all costs when putting it on or taking it off. Usethe appropriate gestures to handle it: grip it by the brim when putting it on or taking it off!
