The 4-way hat expander maintains the shape of the crown and keeps the hat straight and firm.

It can also be used to carefully stretch the leather to make it half a size larger.

To store the hat

Place enlarger in bonnet
Enlarge the enlarger to the desired size
Place the 2 wooden parts inside the hat, level with the label. They must be parallel to the fold, in the crown of the hat.
Tighten the handle to adjust the enlarger to the size of the hat. Your headgear is ready for storage and won't be damaged!

Repeat the previous steps.
Use a teapot/pan to boil clean water. Reduce the heat to ensure a constant flow of steam.
Holding the hat enlarger by the handle, apply steam directly and evenly to the cap.
Turn the screw to the desired size while applying steam. Don't stretch the hat too much at once! 1/4 of the size is enough.
Let the hat dry for about 30 minutes before removing the enlarger. Repeat until the hat is the desired size.
