The history of the Tyrolean hat

The name of the Tyrolean hat is borrowed from Tyrol. It is an Austrian Land, but also the first region in which this hat was first produced. The Tyrolean hat was traditionally made of grey or green felt hair and trimmed with a feather of a rooster or a bunch of wild boar, deer, chamis or badger hair.
It was later adopted by hunters in many countries, where it could bear the German word for Hut. It was the official name of the wide-brimmed marker attributed to the guardians of Pairs, a short-lived Parisian police force (1848-1849)

The Tyrolean hat is often associated with the Bavarian hat or the mountain hat

One of its edges is raised, it is often the back while the front is lowered. The Tyrolean hat is still made of hair felt but there is a wider range of colors than at the time.
The Tyrolean hat has a feather, and/or a rope to honor its origin and the first models that compose it.
